BACKGROUND

The Tuscaloosa River Market is located on the banks of the Black Warrior River, hosting the Tuscaloosa Farmers Market, weddings, and special events throughout the year. I designed a new rack card and a new magazine ad for The River Market. Check them out below!

BEHIND THE DESIGN

The old rack card only showed weddings, so the staff wanted the new rack card to display the venue’s versatility for all events. Instead of the classic black and white color scheme, I used a dark navy with white to make the card stand out from similar venues that most likely use traditional black and white. The previous rack card did not list any information about the venue other than rental options. Therefore, on the new one, I immediately knew it needed to have the building specs and address to show clients the venue’s possibilities. I even placed the information underneath the photos on the front, like captions. And, on the back, the vertical sidebars separate the rental options visually. 

BEHIND THE DESIGN

I designed this print ad featured in the Sring-Summer 2023 edition of Tuscaloosa Bridal Directory magazine. I used the same dark navy and white color scheme to match the rack card. Since this is a bridal magazine, I only used wedding photos instead of pictures of all events, like the rack card. The slogan “I do with a view” and the short description underneath are catered specifically to brides.
